In this sermon from the concluding verses of James chapter 4, Pastor Jason Boothe addresses the certainty we often place in our own plans and ambitions. James reminds us that our lives are like a mist: brief, fragile, and completely dependent upon the sovereign will of God. Believers are called to live with humble submission to the Lord, acknowledging His rule over every detail of our days.

This message, “Faith in the Lord’s Will,” explores three central themes in the passage:

  • The brevity of life — Our days are fleeting, and all earthly plans are temporary.
  • The sovereignty of God — Each moment is held firmly in His wise and loving hands.
  • The call to humble obedience — Knowing the good we ought to do, we are to walk in faith, selflessness, and brotherly love.

As we worship together, may this text challenge us to yield our plans to the Lord, trust in His perfect wisdom, and seek His glory in all we say and do. May our hearts be shaped into people who live every moment with reverent dependence on God.
