What is this gospel? Paul defines it simply: Jesus Christ “gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father” (v. 4). This is not a cooperative effort between God and man—it is divine rescue. Christ alone saves. And yet, the Galatians were beginning to desert this gospel. Paul is “astonished” that they were turning to a different gospel—a distorted message that added works of the law to the grace of Christ. But Paul is clear: there is no other gospel. To alter the gospel is to abandon Christ Himself. Join Pastor Jason Boothe as he preaches the Gospel of Grace from Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians, reminding each of us that Grace calls God’s people to Christ for Christ and not back into the bondage of the law.
